  • The resident labor force is well educated and diverse in terms of their industry and occupational mix. Over 70 percent of the population has completed high school and 16 percent have a college degree. Based on the type of people moving in to the Town, the educational level of the population is likely to continue to increase.

  •  In terms of occupations, about 36 percent of the workforce is in production and material moving occupations. Managerial and professional workers make up 23 percent of the resident work force, office and sales workers account for 23 percent and service workers account for an additional 15 percent. Although most residents are currently out-commuting to jobs in other parts of the metro area, they represent the potential labor force for companies moving in to Buckeye.

  • In terms of industry mix, the largest share of the resident work force is in education and health services (18 percent), followed by manufacturing, transportation, construction and retail which each account for about 10 to 13 percent of the work force.
  •  Average wages are dictated by prevailing wages in the metro area and tend to be close to or slightly below, the national average.
